Shabaash Mithu Movie Review: Shabaash Mithu is a movie based on the lie of the former Indian women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj. A country where cricket is celebrated as a festival but the women's cricket team of the same country is not even considered a legitimate sport to encourage. Mithali and the women's cricket team had to go through a tremendous struggle for their identity. The movie covers Mithali Raj's journey to become a professional cricketer. A movie full of sports spirit graced with strong actors like Taapsee Pannu and Vijay Raaz.

The beginning of the movie is engaging and entertaining. The first half hour of the movie is different from the common biopic movies. Shabaash Mithu is directed by Srijit Mukherji and his direction in this movie is just decent. The good thing about the movie is its energy. There is a lot of energy in almost every scene in this movie, but the movie seems weak in terms of script. Speaking of music, even though it's a sports drama, the movie has too many songs. The cinematography is good where the stadium scenes are so impressive.

Taapsee Pannu's hard work is visible in the movie Shabaash Mithu. Be it her look, dialogue or body language, she has done an excellent job. Vijay Raaz has done a commendable job and his work in the movie is the best. There is no shortage anywhere in anyone's acting, but the movie lacks a good script. Shabaash Mithu is not a great movie, but it should be appreciated for one thing that it tries to stand away from the biopics that came before. If you are planning to watch a Bollywood movie, this sports biopic Shabaash Mithu might be a good option for you.
